David Condon Woodcraft Blog – Exploring Woodturning & Irish Craftsmanship
Welcome to my blog, where I share my passion for woodturning, Irish craftsmanship, and life in a small creative workshop.
What started out as a reluctant business tool has become one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Over time, this space has grown from occasional product updates into a place where I document my craft, share what I’ve learned, and connect with people who are curious about working with wood. If you’d like to know more about who I am and how I got started, you can visit my About Me page.
Today, the blog covers a broad but focused range of topics, including:
● Woodturning techniques and workshop insights
● Working with native Irish hardwoods
● Sustainable practices and ethical woodworking
● Tool reviews, finishing methods, and practical advice
● The realities of running a creative small business in Ireland
Whether you’re a complete beginner, a student attending one of my Woodturning Tuition sessions, a fellow maker, or just someone curious about Irish woodcraft — there’s something here for you. If you’re just getting started in woodturning, check out my post: So you want to be a Woodturner? — it’s a great place to begin. I’ve also written several follow-up posts to guide you further! Checkout my Woodturning Experiences page for some fun group activities in my workshop.
Woodturning Topics & Resources
A quick note:
I’ve also launched two separate blogs alongside this one.
David Condon Finds is where I publish my non-woodworking posts — book reviews, health topics, product roundups, personal reflections, and the occasional Amazon find — so this blog can stay focused purely on woodturning.
Phoenix DVD Blog is a place for my DVD and Blu-ray collecting, covering films, miniseries, and physical media worth revisiting or adding to your shelf.
If you’ve enjoyed those occasional detours in the past, you’re very welcome to follow along on either (or both).
