The item you receive will be made from the same species, design, and approximate dimensions, but natural grain patterns ensure every piece is unique.

Are these gifts suitable for book lovers?

Yes. My wooden thumb book holders, bookmarks and glasses holders are all practical handmade gifts for people who enjoy reading. They are particularly suitable when you want something a little different from a standard book-related gift.

Can you personalise or engrave the thumb holders and bookmarks?

No. I don’t currently offer engraving, wood burning, names, initials or other personalisation on my thumb book holders or wooden bookmarks.

Each piece is made from real wood and I prefer to let the natural grain, colour and character of the timber remain the main feature.

What does a thumb book holder do?

A thumb book holder helps keep the pages of a book open while you hold it in one hand. Your thumb passes through the centre hole and the wider section rests across the pages, making it particularly useful when reading larger or more stubborn books.

Will the wooden bookmarks damage my books?

The bookmarks are made to be slim and smooth so they can sit between the pages of a book without adding unnecessary bulk. As with any bookmark, I recommend placing it gently between the pages rather than forcing it close to the spine.

What is a wooden glasses holder?

A wooden glasses holder is a simple stand designed to give you somewhere obvious to leave your glasses when you are not wearing them. Instead of putting them down on a table or beside the bed, the glasses rest on the shaped wooden holder where they are much easier to find.

Are the glasses holders only for reading glasses?

No. They can be used for reading glasses, prescription glasses and many other everyday spectacles, provided the frame sits comfortably on the holder.

Will the item I receive look exactly like the photograph?

For wooden bookmarks and thumb book holders, I use representative listing photographs rather than photographing every individual item. Because each piece is made from real wood, the grain, colour and natural markings will vary slightly from the example shown.

For glasses holders, the listing photographs show the actual item for sale, so the glasses holder pictured is the one you will receive.
