Cafe Society Acrylic Pen Blank
A colourful Chestnut Products acrylic pen blank suitable for pen turning and other small turning projects.
This blank measures approximately 150mm x 20mm x 20mm and is made from hard-wearing acrylic. It is a good choice for handmade pens, keyrings, small handles and decorative spindle work where you want a bright, polished finish.
Acrylic blanks are fairly straightforward to turn and drill, but sharp tools make a big difference. When drilling, take your time and remove small amounts at a time to reduce heat build-up.
These acrylic blanks do not need a traditional wood finish. Once sanded and polished properly, the acrylic itself can produce a strong glossy surface.
For a bright gloss finish, sand smoothly through the grits and use Burnishing Cream as a final cutback polish. A light application of Microcrystalline Wax can also help keep the finished pen looking clean and fingerprint-free, especially if it will be handled often or displayed at sales events.
