This Large Deep food-safe bowl comes from Tralee Co. Kerry. The tree it came from was taken down as part of a development and left onsite.  
 
This bowl features some early spalt zone and an area of lovely grain due to the presense of a knot. The knot has been repaired slightly, see photos for more detail. Sycamore is normally a plain type of wood but this is anything but ordinary. Perfect for table display, displaying fruit or open salads.  The wide undercut rim frames the centre of the bowl perfectly.
 
Finish sanded to a smooth touch.  For food convenience, it is coated with a Danish Oil undercoat and a new Hard Wax Oil top coat. After Care details will be sent with each bowl.
 
Because of the durable finish, this bowl can also just be used for display long term. Please note that washing the bowl may change or diminish the shine on the surface.
