Handcrafted Irish Hardwood Jewellery Dish – Ideal for Rings or Cufflinks
I enjoy experimenting with different variations of the pieces I make, and these square Jewellery Dishes are designed to make good use of off-cuts from larger woodworking projects. By using these smaller pieces of timber, less wood goes to waste while creating a practical and affordable handmade gift.
These dishes are perfect for keeping small personal items safe and visible. Place one on a bedside locker, dressing table, bathroom shelf, or hallway table to hold rings, cufflinks, earrings, or other small jewellery pieces when they are not being worn.
They can also serve as a simple decorative piece that highlights the natural beauty of Irish hardwood.
This particular dish is made from Spalted Beech sourced in County Galway. Spalted wood develops distinctive dark zone lines and mineral markings as the timber ages, and this piece features beautiful spalting patterns along with subtle red mineral veins running through the grain. These natural features make every piece completely unique.
At the centre sits a turned cradle, shaped on the lathe, which can be used to hold rings securely or simply add an elegant focal point to the dish.
Each piece is finished by hand and fitted with four small protective feet to lift the wood slightly from the surface and help protect furniture.
Dimensions
● Approx. 80mm × 80mm × 17mm
● Weight approx. 62g
● Turned cradle approx. 70mm diameter × 14mm deep
