Fast-Cutting Abrasive Mesh Sanding Strips

Sianet Sanding Strips are a brilliant abrasive mesh for sanding wood, MDF, primer, paint, lacquer and other workshop surfaces. They cut cleanly, resist clogging and last well compared with ordinary sandpaper.

I use this type of sanding mesh regularly in my own woodturning and general workshop work, and customers who try it often come back for more.

320 Grit – Fine Surface Preparation Before Finish

320 grit is a fine sanding stage for preparing a surface before finishing. It removes lighter sanding marks from previous grits and leaves the work cleaner, smoother and more ready for oils, waxes, sanding sealer, lacquer or paint.

For woodturning, 320 grit is a very useful final or near-final grit depending on the timber and the finish being used. It is also handy for denibbing, light smoothing and general finish preparation around the workshop.

Cut to Size for the Job in Front of You

Each strip is 70mm wide x 420mm long, giving you plenty of material to cut to whatever length or width suits the job.

Use a full strip, cut narrow sanding strips for spindle work, make small pieces for detail sanding, or wrap it around a block for flatter surfaces.

Why Sianet Works Better Than Ordinary Sandpaper

The mesh backing allows dust to pass through the abrasive instead of building up on the surface.

This helps the strip keep cutting for longer and reduces clogging, especially on wood, MDF, paint, primer and finishes.

It is flexible, strong and easy to use by hand, with sanding blocks, around shaped work, or on turned pieces.

Useful On More Than Just Timber

Although I use Sianet mostly for woodturning and woodworking, it is also useful for general sanding jobs, painted surfaces, primer, acrylic lacquer, MDF, solid surface material and plaster.
