David Condon Woodcraft Blog – Exploring Woodturning & Irish Craftsmanship
Welcome to my blog – a place to share my passion for woodturning, Irish craftsmanship, and creative living.
What started out as a reluctant business tool has become one of my favourite ways to connect with others and share what I do. In the early days, I mainly wrote about my own products — but in 2023, I decided to take a different approach. If you're curious to learn more about who I am and how I got started, feel free to visit my About Me page.
Now, this blog covers a wider range of topics, including:
-
Woodturning tips and studio insights
-
Working with native Irish hardwoods
-
Sustainable tree harvesting and ethical woodworking
-
Tool reviews and hands-on techniques
-
Thoughts on running a creative small business in Ireland
Whether you're a beginner, a student in one of my Woodturning Tuition sessions, a fellow maker, or just someone curious about Irish woodcraft — there’s something here for you. If you’re just getting started in woodturning, check out my post: So you want to be a Woodturner? — it’s a great place to begin. I’ve also written several follow-up posts to guide you further!
As my small business has expanded into craft supplies — partly out of necessity and partly by happenstance — I now also share updates from my Crafter’s Haven store — a one-stop-shop for ribbons, bows, gift bags & embellishments, and other creative resources. Please take a moment to visit — you might find something perfect for your next project!
New Blog Announcement!
I've recently launched a second blog: David Condon Finds. I wanted a dedicated space to share my non-woodworking content — including book reviews, health topics, product roundups, personal reflections, and Amazon Affiliate finds — without cluttering this blog’s focus on woodturning.
If you’ve enjoyed those occasional detours, I’d love for you to follow along over there too!
You can Subscribe to this Website Blog too, simply fill in the form below the posts on this page.
