63mm (2.5 Inch) Velcro Hook & Loop Sanding Discs – Multi Grit
High-quality Velcro Hook & Loop sanding discs (63mm / 2.5 inch diameter), ideal for woodturning and bowl sanding.
 
Made in Germany, these are the same discs I use myself in the workshop. The 63mm size is a “special diameter” I often use on bowls where 50mm discs feel too small and 75mm are too big.

I adapted a 75mm sanding mandrel on the lathe with a sharp skew to suit this size. I find 63mm discs work well on certain projects where 75mm discs can feel wasteful, and they allow more discs to be cut from a large sheet.
 
I keep enough stock to fulfil orders, even if the website shows low quantities. If you need more than listed, just send me a message and I’ll update the stock so you can order.
 
👉 To make ordering easier, you can also buy a mixed pack of 5 discs in each grit from 120 to 320. (Please note: 80 grit is excluded from this option as it’s too harsh and must be purchased separately.)
 
Woodturner's Tip;
Sandpaper is a cutting tool, not an abrasive tool.
Use the sanding disc for the job in hand and then discard.
Don't be tempted to reuse as you will just be generating heat and burnishing the wood surface potentially causing issues for your finish. 
If using a Mandrel, always use very light pressure and let the sanding disc cut.
Pressure will likely shorten the life of the Mandrel.
Be careful when centreing the disc on the Mandrel and never allow the disc to be thrown exposing the hooks to damage.
63mm Discs and above are less likely to be thrown due to the wider area coverage of hooks but care should be taken regardless.
