Woodturner's Tip;
Always make sure that the hook and loop sandpaper is applied correctly and stays on the mandrel. Losing the sandpaper while still applying pressure will damage the hook layer and shorten the life of this mandrel.
 
Sandpaper is a cutting tool, not an abrasive tool.
Use the sanding disc for the job in hand and then discard.
Don't be tempted to reuse as you will just be generating heat and burnishing the wood surface potentially causing issues for your finish.
