Extra Large Deep Food-Safe Wooden Bowl – Crafted from Storm-Salvaged Ash
Bowls this size, really make a statement!  This bowl was nearly too big for my light tent!
 
A Unique Piece of Nature & Craftsmanship
This extra-large wide handcrafted bowl comes from a storm-felled ash tree near Beaufort, Co. Kerry. The tree lay in an elevated ditch for over a year before being salvaged. While the lower trunk succumbed to decay, the upper section revealed rich, vibrant colors that only time and nature can create—making this bowl truly one of a kind. I have included an image of the bowl on a four foot table to give you an idea of it's size!
 
Celebrating Natural Imperfections
This bowl tells a story of resilience and craftsmanship. While I was able to preserve most of the upper part of this tree, unfortunately, most of the lower part succumbed to decay. This Bowl is one of about 5 or 6 from the upper section that were perfect & extremely rich in colour!
 
Elegant Design & Stunning Grain
Featuring an inward-curved, undercut rim, this bowl has an elegant form that enhances the natural heartwood grain patterns and sapwood areas flowing throughout the piece. There is also a flash of spalt in the middle of the bowl. Ash is my favorite wood to work with, and this particular tree was a challenge—but well worth the effort.

This bowl has been finished with a Danish Oil undercoat and a top coat of Osmo Oil, creating a smooth, food-safe surface. While durable enough for food use, washing may soften the shine. To ensure longevity, aftercare instructions will be included with your purchase.
