Bathroom Pull Cord Handle – Handmade Irish Spalted Beech 🌿
Replace those cheap plastic pull-cord handles with something that actually feels good to use, a handmade Irish hardwood handle turned by me here in Tralee. ✨
 
The Wood 🌿
This piece is made from locally sourced Irish Beech, freshly finished and still with natural colour, but it will naturally deepen into a warm honey tone over time. 🌤️
Beech is strong, lightweight and beautifully tactile, making it ideal for everyday use.

Every handle is turned freehand, so each one is a little unique. 🌳
 
Size & Fit
Each handle measures roughly 80mm long and about 30mm wide, though every piece varies slightly because it’s turned by hand.
• 3mm hole for the cord
• 6mm recess to hide the knot
• Designed for standard 1mm pull cords
 
The photos include one in my hand to give a natural sense of scale.
 
Finish
I prefer a matt finish on these pieces. A shiny coat can look plasticky, whereas a matt tone feels more natural and true to the wood.
 
Finished with:
• Danish Oil
• Hard Wax Oil
• Carnauba Wax
The result is a smooth, warm feel that is easy to grip.

Packaging 🎁
Each handle comes in a brown Kraft gift box, ready to use or give as a small gift.

Important Note
This listing is for the wooden handle only.
You will reuse the cord already installed in your home.
 
Installation 🛠️
This piece is sold without a cord, you will use the cord you already own.
 
To install:
● Lift the original plastic cap and undo the knot holding it in place.
● Try to straighten the cord so it will pass through the 3mm hole.
● If you can't straighten it, cut the cord end with scissors and seal the fibres with a lighter.
● Gently push the cord through, turning the wood in your hand helps.
● If needed, use a toothpick to push the cord through.
● Tie a single knot once the cord is through.
● Push the knot into the recess so it is hidden.
