These shorter skills clinics are a new addition to my tuition programme and I’m continuing to refine them as they develop.
To get the most from the session, participants are encouraged to come along with specific questions or areas they would like help with. In the case of the bandsaw clinic, this might include issues with cutting accuracy, drift, blade choice, or preparing turning blanks.
The more information you can bring about your own setup or the problems you're experiencing, the more productive the session will be.

A bandsaw is one of the most useful machines in any workshop, but it can also be frustrating if it isn’t set up correctly.
 
Poor cuts, wandering blades, excessive drift, or rough edges are often caused by simple setup issues that are easy to fix once you know what to look for.
 
Many people also feel unsure about safe cutting techniques, particularly when preparing bowl blanks or cutting irregular pieces of wood.
 
This session is designed to help you understand how your bandsaw should behave, how to maintain it properly, and how to cut accurately and safely.

In this one-to-one session I’ll show you how I use my bandsaw in the workshop for preparing turning blanks and general cutting tasks.

If you already own a bandsaw you’re welcome to bring along any questions about your machine or the results you’re getting.

Weekday Only (cash / online):
• 2 hours – €100 / €110
 
Price is per person. A maximum of two participants may attend together so that both receive equal attention during the session (€200 for two people). If two people attend, a little extra time is added so both participants receive proper guidance.
