Once sharpening becomes predictable and repeatable, woodturning becomes far more enjoyable and controlled.
 
This focused session is designed to remove the mystery from sharpening and help you maintain tools properly at home.

In this dedicated one-to-one sharpening session, you’ll learn how to grind, shape, and maintain your woodturning tools correctly while getting them razor sharp again.
 
I’ll show you my sharpening stations and explain how I use them in the workshop. You're welcome to bring your own setup if you'd like, especially if you use a different system such as the Sorby Pro Edge. I don’t have direct experience with that machine but if you're having issues I may be able to help.
 
We’ll cover regrinding, reshaping, and maintaining your edges properly so you can achieve consistent, repeatable results at home.
 
This session is ideal if you want to sharpen confidently, or simply need your tools corrected while learning the right techniques.
 
You’re encouraged to bring a few of your own tools to the session so we can examine them together. If any need attention, we can sharpen or reshape them during the class while discussing the correct grinding techniques.
 
There is no turning involved in this session — the focus is entirely on sharpening and tool maintenance. I may have testing pieces ready for practice cuts.

These are fast-paced, focused classes designed to make the most of your time without wasting a minute. You’ll leave with solid, practical knowledge and real results and if you’d like to go deeper, additional sessions can easily be arranged.

• Regrinding and reshaping worn or damaged tools
• Bringing old rusty tools back into service
• Using jigs and freehand methods safely
• Maintaining and dressing stone wheels
• Tips on wet wheels, belt systems, and Pro Edge setups
• Advice on choosing or upgrading sharpening equipment

Weekday Only (cash / online):
• 2 hours – €100 / €110
 
Price is per person. A maximum of two participants may attend together so that both receive equal attention during the session (€200 cash for two people). If two people attend, a little extra time is added so both participants receive proper guidance.
