Handmade Irish Beech Egg Cups (Set of 2) 🌿
Keep your breakfast simple and stable with these handcrafted flat egg cups, designed to sit firmly on the table without tipping.
 
Unlike traditional egg cups, these have a wide, stable base and a shallow cradle, giving you a more practical and reliable way to enjoy your egg. There’s also space to rest the top of the shell while you eat.
 
Each set is turned by hand in my workshop in Tralee, Co. Kerry, using Irish beech, often with natural spalting that adds extra character to the wood.
 
The Wood 🌿
These egg cups are made from Irish beech, sometimes featuring natural spalting, the dark lines and patterns that make each piece visually unique.
No two sets are ever the same.

● Approx. 80mm x 80mm x 18mm
● Approx. 80g each
● Hole diameter approx. 38mm at widest point
 
Designed to fit medium and large Irish eggs.
 
👉 Best used with the blunt end down
(The pointed end may sit loose)
 
A small drainage hole is included underneath.
 
More Than Just Egg Cups
These pieces are surprisingly versatile.
 
They can also be turned upside down and used as small stands for:

decorative balls
small keepsakes
 
Each piece includes two hole sizes, allowing for a wider range of objects to be displayed.

Finish
Each piece is finished with a blend of Danish Oil and Hard Wax Oil, chosen to balance protection with a natural look and feel.
 
Natural Variation
Because each piece is made from natural wood and turned individually, grain patterns, spalting, and colour will vary.
While pairs are carefully selected to complement each other, exact matching sets are not possible, which is part of the character of working with natural materials.
 
Care Instructions
● Keep liquids to a minimum
● Wash with mild detergent only
● Dry immediately with a towel
● Reapply a food-safe finish after extended use
