A fun and affordable 2-hour group session designed for anyone curious about woodturning but not ready to commit to a full class. Whether you’re a couple, a tourist in Kerry, or just looking for something creative to do with friends, this is the perfect entry-level experience.
You’ll get hands-on at the lathe, try your hand at shaping a basic cylinder—and even take a piece home as a small keepsake if you'd like.

• Start with a quick tour of my studio, dry wood store, and turning workshop
• Learn about the drying process and get a peek at some finished pieces
• Try your hand at turning a basic wooden cylinder on a lathe

• Watch as I shape your piece into a teardrop ornament
• Sand, seal, and finish your ornament yourself
• Take your handmade item home as a memento of the day

• Safety gear provided (face shields & dust masks)
• Wear old clothes and sturdy shoes—it’s a working studio
• Allergies? If you’re sensitive to wood dust, this may not be the best fit
• This is a short, introductory session—longer classes are available if you want to do more turning
• Each session is slightly different depending on the group’s interests—questions always welcome!
