Exquisitely Handcrafted Irish Hardwood Jewellery Ring Holders for the Ladies!
Welcome to my collection of handcrafted jewellery and ring holders, where utility meets artistry.
Each piece is made from locally sourced Irish hardwood where possible, offering a practical yet elegant way to keep rings, cufflinks, earrings, and small pieces of jewellery safe while showcasing the natural beauty of Irish wood.
These make ideal small gifts for anyone who appreciates handcrafted woodwork, perfect for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas, or simply as a thoughtful surprise.
Whether used for storing rings, cufflinks, earrings, or small keepsakes, these holders combine practicality with authentic Irish craftsmanship. The hardwoods I use, including storm-fallen Ash, Beech, and Oak, are chosen for their richness of grain and character.
I personally hand-turn every holder in my Kerry workshop, shaping them one by one on the lathe. No two are ever alike; the textures, patterns, and quirks of each piece of wood make every holder a true original.

A Little More About My Handmade Ring Holders
A ring holder is a small object, but it can become part of a daily routine. It might sit beside a bed, near a sink, on a dressing table, or in a hallway where rings, cufflinks, earrings, or small keepsakes need a safe place to rest.
This is one of my signature product ranges, and these holders have become some of my most sought-after pieces. They work well because they are practical, compact, and personal, while still carrying the warmth and character of handmade Irish hardwood.
Some are simple and understated, while others show stronger grain, natural markings, or more unusual shapes. I make them in small batches, so the exact selection changes depending on the wood I have available and what I am working on in the workshop.
This page may also include Christmas Gift Box Sets or ready-to-gift options at certain times of the year, especially for those looking for a finished present rather than a standalone piece.

A ring holder isn’t just a stand. It is a small piece of Irish craftsmanship, made by hand and by heart.
Handmade Ring Holder FAQ
What is a handmade ring holder used for?
A ring holder gives you a safe, visible place to leave rings, cufflinks, earrings, or small pieces of jewellery when they are not being worn. They are useful beside a bed, on a dressing table, in a hallway, or anywhere small jewellery items are likely to be set down.
I would avoid placing them in direct sunlight, right beside a sink, or anywhere they may get splashed regularly, as water and strong sunlight can affect the wax finish over time.
But I never take my rings off. Would I still use one?
Many people say they never take their rings off, but in everyday life rings are often removed for small tasks. You might take them off when washing dishes, applying hand cream, gardening, baking, cleaning, showering, sleeping, or doing work where a ring could get scratched or damaged.
Some people also have different rings for different occasions, so a ring holder can still be useful even if a wedding ring or favourite ring is worn most of the time.
Are handmade ring holders good gifts?
Yes. A handmade ring holder makes a thoughtful small gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Christmas, engagements, weddings, bridesmaids, Father’s Day, or anyone who wears rings, cufflinks, earrings, or small jewellery. They are practical, decorative, and easy to place somewhere useful in the home.
Are your ring holders handmade in Ireland?
Yes. I hand-turn each ring holder myself in my workshop in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Every piece is shaped individually on the lathe, so no two holders are exactly the same, even when designs are made to be similar.
What wood do you use for your ring holders?
I use Irish hardwood exclusively, including Ash, Beech, Oak, Yew, Elm, Olive Ash and other suitable woods when available. Some pieces are left natural to show off the grain, while others with plainer markings are coloured and finished to create a more decorative piece. When I find a particularly eye-catching grain pattern, I feature it as a natural grain version.
Why do some ring holders mention Irish Ash?
Irish Ash is now under serious threat from ash dieback, with many trees already lost across Ireland. I was fortunate to secure a good supply of suitable Ash before dieback was found in the area, and I handled and processed the wood myself. I use it carefully, which makes each of my handmade Ash pieces feel even more meaningful as time goes on.
Where should I keep a ring holder?
Popular places include a bedside locker, dressing table, bathroom shelf, kitchen windowsill, hallway table, home office desk, or anywhere rings and small jewellery are regularly removed. The important thing is to keep it somewhere visible and easy to use.
Will one ring holder hold more than one ring?
Yes, most ring holders can hold more than one ring, depending on the size and style of the rings. They are ideal for keeping everyday rings together in one safe place. The product images should give you a good idea of how many rings each holder can comfortably hold and what type of use would be most appropriate.
Are these suitable for men as well as women?
Yes. While many ring holders are bought as gifts for women, they can also be very useful for men’s rings, cufflinks, small keepsakes, watches, keys, coins, or everyday pocket items. Some of the simpler natural wood holders work especially well as understated gifts for men.
If bought for a man, it is not just a decorative item. It is a practical Irish-made piece, turned by hand from real Irish hardwood, and that gives it a very different feel from a mass-produced trinket.
Are coloured ring holders painted?
The coloured ring holders are not simply painted like a mass-produced ornament. Each one is turned from Irish hardwood, coloured by hand, allowed time to dry, then finished and polished to create a smooth decorative piece. It is a slower process than leaving the wood natural, but it allows me to turn plainer-grained hardwood into something more distinctive while still keeping the shape, feel and character of a handmade wooden piece.
Are handmade ring holders good value for money?
Yes, I believe they are exceptional value for money when you consider the amount of time, care and individual work involved. I can only make them in limited quantities, and each one has to be turned, finished and polished by hand.
They are both functional and decorative, giving you a safe place for rings, cufflinks or small jewellery while also adding a small piece of Irish hardwood craft to your home. If looked after properly, they can be treasured and used for many years.
How do I clean a handmade ring holder?
Wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth. Keep it away from sunlight and water. For more details, see my Ring Holder Care & Cleaning section on the Aftercare page.
