If you are on Vacation in Kerry Ireland, this is something absolutely unique that you can do if you are by yourself.  I have catered to people visiting Ireland on their own before and this is a perfect use of 2 hours with maybe more than a few memorable moments.  If you are from Ireland and on a 'staycation' you are most welcome too!  This is also an ideal quick Birthday or Christmas Gift idea and can suit other gift occasions too.
 
This is a hands on Experience for a guest and may be more fun to do than my standard Woodturning Tuition for some people.   The experience takes 2 Hours and can be run on any of the Calendar Dates that I have assigned 3 hour session slots.
 
Please read the description carefully before booking.  I do need to know you are booking as early as possible as these dates are listed on other websites and have to be manually changed.

The Hanging Ornament making is the main event for this Experience.  Check out the pictures above if you are having trouble imagining it.
 
Due to the complexity and skill required to turn one of my Hanging Ornaments, I will turn the decoration from a wood blank into it's final shape in two stages as you watch. You will then sand, seal, wax embellish and finish the piece to your own specifications to take home with you.
 
In order for you to be able to do certain stages yourself, I will demonstrate how to: Fully sand the piece so that you will be able to sand on your own. Add colour to the piece with whatever colours you choose (10 colours to choose from) Embellish the grain with gold wax Apply the overcoat of High Gloss to make it shine. Add the hook eye to the top of the ornamnent. Add the ribbon, which you will choose for yourself.
 
Woodturning is quite difficult so if at any stage if you cannot complete a step I will help you or do it for you.
 
In the last few years I have become very well known for my Hanging Ornament decorations and they have moved on from the earlier natural grain versions to a mixture of colour and natural grain. As far as I know I am the only Woodturner in the world making this type of ornament. I think that makes this tour fairly special.
 
I have air filters working in the background which take some of the particulates out of the air but If you are allergic to wood dust then this tour/demonstration might not be for you.  I will provide dust masks if you need them and face shields for your safety.
