Another tool from the Glenn Lucas Signature Hamlet range. A very versatile tool for refining those straight flat areas. It has an extra large handle so that you have absolute control of the tool as you go over the edge of the toolrest.
Used for box making and chucking recesses.
Used for the inside of a box or can also quickly produce a recess at the base of a platter or bowl for mounting on your four jaw chuck. If used to produce a chucking recess an additional tool will be needed to produce the dovetail angle.

Scraping tools cut using a raised burr and should be sharpend a little and often to create a new burr. In other words, use it once and then go and the sharpen to achieve a new burr on the grinder. Never use the tool steel to do the cutting as that could lead to a catch, use the burr only.
For years I have been shopping online for tools only to find a single grainy far away photo that does not show the tools for what they are. I have decided to add more images of this product to make your choice easier.
